  1. This is the README file for LOG.EXE which contains 
  2. LOGIN.EXE Version 3.71 which replaces LOGIN.EXE v3.52 that ships
  3. with NNS v1.0 for NetWare v2.15C and above and NetWare v3.x.

  10. Purpose:
  11.  
  12. 1)  LOGIN.EXE Version 3.71 supports NCP Packet Signature.
  13.  
  14. 2)  LOGIN.EXE Version 3.71 corrects a problem with the "EXIT"
  15. command in a login script.  Earlier versions of LOGIN.EXE for NNS
  16. would place a <CR> in the keyboard buffer whenever an "EXIT"
  17. command was issued in a login script.  When LOGIN.EXE Version 3.71 
  18. encounters an "EXIT" command in the login script it does the following:
  19.  
  20.      EXIT "MENU"    Places the string "MENU" and a <CR> into the
  21.                     keyboard buffer, then terminates execution of
  22.                     the LOGIN.EXE program.
  23.  
  24.      EXIT ""        Terminates execution of the LOGIN.EXE program.
  25.                     (The keyboard buffer is not modified).
  26.  
  27.      EXIT           Terminates execution of the LOGIN.EXE program.
  28.                     (The keyboard buffer is not modified).
  29.  
  30. 3)  LOGIN.EXE Version 3.71 corrects a problem with the ACCESS_SERVER
  31. identifier variable in a login script.  Earlier versions of LOGIN.EXE
  32. for NNS would not recognize the ACCESS_SERVER identifier variable in 
  33. a login script.  LOGIN.EXE Version 3.71 will correctly recognize the 
  34. ACCESS_SERVER identifier variable in a login script.

  36. To install this utility:     
  37.  
  38. 1)    Flag LOGIN.EXE as SRW (Sharable Read Write) in the PUBLIC and
  39.       LOGIN directories.
  40.  
  41. 2)    Rename LOGIN.EXE to LOGIN.OLD in the PUBLIC and LOGIN
  42.       directories for backup purposes.
  43.     
  44. 3)    Copy LOGIN.EXE to the PUBLIC and LOGIN directories.
  45.  
  46. 4)    Flag the new copies of LOGIN.EXE back to SRO (Sharable
  47.       Read-Only).
